jdnews.com - I recently had the privilege of visiting Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital. Capt. Daniel Zinder escorted me to the new hyperbaric oxygen chamber that will soon be available to our Marines returning from war and suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injury (TBI).
I am grateful to Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and former Marine Commandant James T. Conway for listening to my concerns and doing their best to make sure Camp Lejeune received the best technology possible to help our wounded warriors.
Hyperbaric oxygen treatment has proven to be very helpful in the recovery process for many returning troops. It is important that our troops have the best care available to assist them with their injuries, physical or mental.
Again, I would like to thank Adm. Mullen and Gen. Conway for their support of this technology and for making sure Camp Lejeune is well-equipped to help our brave men and women returning from war.
May God continue to bless our troops, their families and this nation.
